About Us

The Island Saxophone Quartet was formed in early 2004. The concept started when a young graduate of West Liberty State College (Erika), decided that the Ohio Valley was missing something. After speaking with a fellow saxophonist from college (John), she was inspired to form an ensemble. The two then invited a teacher who also played sax (Bill) to join the ensemble. Continuing the search for a fourth player led to some minor difficulty, but finally was completed with another West Liberty alumni (Tim).
* Since February 2004 the quartet has caught much interest in the Ohio Valley and beyond as they have performed for a multitude of occasions. They are currently working on their debut CD expected to be released at the end of 2006.
